fstation is an imageboard-centric community.
A philosopher of media once said:
"The medium is the message."
This means that the medium of communication people use ends up shaping their mindset, perhaps even moreso than the actual content being conveyed.
/vg/station was created by 4chan users and they breathed the energy of an imageboard into it. However eventually the adminstration moved to Discord and away from 4chan and thereby fell to Discordism. Most SS13 servers today are also controlled by Discordites, and this reflects in the codebases and administrations.
fstation is a refresh of /vg/station focusing on providing a SS13 experience for imageboard users, and all that that entails.
Roleplay well and don't mass murder people or heavily destroy the station as a non-antagonist. Other than that, do whatever you want.
This wiki is new and doesn't have all of the guides and information one would expect yet. For now the /vg/station wiki can also provide useful information to learn how to play, with the caveat that a lot of the rules and roleplay standards differ on fstation.
